Introducing OUIBO

Your tabs survive.
Trackers don't.

A browser built around two habits: picking up exactly where you left off, and blocking the ads and trackers that try to follow you while you're there.

Core browsing

Tabs, the way they should work

Every tab you open is exactly where OUIBO keeps its focus — organized, restorable, and quick to reach.

Pin, drag, done

Pin the tabs you always need, drag to reorder the rest, right-click for everything else.

Pick up where you stopped

Every tab, its pinned state, and the one you were reading all come back after a restart.

One bar, two jobs

Type a URL or ask a question — the address bar knows which one you meant.

Choose your search engine

Google, DuckDuckGo, or Bing — pick one from the address bar, switch back whenever.

Copy an address safely

Right-click the address bar to select and copy in one motion, with a quiet "Copied" confirmation.

Find anything on the page

Full in-page search, plus shortcuts for new tabs, closing tabs, zoom, and cycling between tabs.

Privacy & protection

The web, minus what's watching

OUIBO blocks ads and trackers before they load — not after — so pages arrive lighter and nothing phones home behind your back.

  • Network-level ad & tracker blockingA live per-tab blocked count and a one-tap on/off toggle.
  • YouTube ads never loadPre-rolls and mid-rolls are stripped out of the player's own response before it can play them — signed in or signed out.
  • Malvertising popups suppressedFake "leave this site?" prompts get shut down before they open.
  • Phishing & malware warningsPowered by Google Safe Browsing — checked against a list stored on your device, never a per-visit call to Google.

Passwords

One vault, not fifteen browser prompts

Save a password once and OUIBO fills it in everywhere that site asks again — reviewable any time, and never stored where a stranger with disk access could read it.

  • Save & autofillCredentials fill themselves in the moment a site asks.
  • Per-site credential listSee and manage every saved login, site by site.
  • Encrypted at restYour OS's own secure keychain does the encrypting — not a plaintext file.
  • Breach check for saved passwordsChecked on demand against Have I Been Pwned, using the same partial-hash method as Safe Browsing — never the password, never even the full hash.

Sync & devices

Everywhere you are, not everywhere you're watched

Bookmarks, history, and open tabs follow you between machines through a sync server you control — end-to-end encrypted where it counts. This is optional based on your technical experience.

  • Sync to your own serverNo third-party cloud sitting between your devices — requires a VPS and manual server setup.
  • Pair and revoke devicesApprove a new device in seconds, cut one off just as fast.
  • Bookmarks, history & open tabsKept in step automatically across every paired device.
  • Password vault, sealed separatelyIts own passphrase, fully end-to-end encrypted.

Self-hosted server

A PHP agent you run yourself

Sync runs on a lightweight PHP agent — drop it on any standard web host, point your devices at it, and the data never touches a server OUIBO controls.

Bookmarks, history & downloads

The everyday stuff, done properly

Star to bookmark

One click saves a page; a searchable panel finds it again instantly.

History that searches back

Search your history, remove single entries, or clear everything — with a confirmation first.

A save dialog, every time

You choose where each download lands — no silent default folder.

Pause, resume, cancel

Full control mid-transfer, and colliding filenames get renamed automatically.

Ctrl+S saves the whole page

One MHTML file, page and assets together — no missing images later.

Save any link or image

Right-click and save it directly — no need to open it first.

For power users

Built for people who look under the hood

View selected source

Inspect the live DOM as the page actually renders — not just what the server sent.

Responsive design mode

Drag a resizable mock viewport to test any screen size without leaving the tab.

Pixel-perfect screenshots

Capture the full page, or hover to pick and grab a single element.

A taskbar icon that keeps up

Updates live with the active tab's title — same as Chrome and Firefox.

A request tool, built in

Any method, custom headers and a body, prefilled from the tab you're on — sent from OUIBO itself, so CORS can't block it, with the full response, headers, and timing shown. No Postman required.

Music

A real player, built into the browser

Import your own library, build playlists, and shape the sound — without a separate app stealing focus from your tabs.

  • Drag-and-drop playlistsBuild a playlist by dragging tracks onto it, reorder it the same way.
  • 5-band EQ & speed-linked pitchShape the tone and nudge the tempo from 0.7× to 1.3× — right-click the slider to reset it, or click it and use the arrow keys for the finest control.
  • Waveform seek barSee the shape of the track and click anywhere on it to jump there.
  • Auto-pause for other audioQuiets down automatically when a tab or a Teams call starts talking — an optional toggle, off in one click.

Microsoft Teams

Built for the office too

Chat, search for people, and see who's free — without alt-tabbing out of your browser. OUIBO docks Teams in a sidebar panel that's there when you need it and gone when you don't. It's entirely optional — not essential for normal use — and needs a Microsoft Entra app registration (Client ID and Tenant ID) before it'll connect.

What's new
0.11.7 21 September 2026 current
  • Toolbar icons reordered: ad blocker, downloads, screenshot, bookmarks, history, then responsive mode, HTTP request tool, sync, password check and the microphone on the end.
  • The VPN button is hidden, being a placeholder with nothing behind it yet.
0.11.6 21 September 2026
  • The search-engine picker's dropdown now opens under its own button on the left, instead of over on the right where it was easy to lose.
0.11.5 21 September 2026
  • The suggestion list now sits under the address bar on the left, where the typing is, rather than hanging off the right-hand buttons.
  • The microphone button has moved to the far right of the toolbar, out of the main run of icons.
0.11.4 21 September 2026
  • The address bar's suggestion list now actually stays on screen. Opening it makes the toolbar re-layer itself over the page, which briefly takes focus off the input — and the list was closing on that, shutting itself in the same breath as it opened.
0.11.3 21 September 2026
  • The address bar no longer types over you. Suggestions from history and bookmarks appear in the list underneath, and what you typed stays exactly as you typed it. Previously a guess was written into the field itself, and typing faster than the guess arrived could splice the two together — what mercedes marine engine… becoming weaponsounds.comhat mercedes marine engine….
0.11.2 21 September 2026
  • Turning blocking off for a site now really turns it off. Some requests carry no trace of which page asked for them — service workers, and a few of YouTube's own player fetches — and those were slipping past the per-site setting and still being blocked. One of them is the very file YouTube checks to decide you are running a blocker, so YouTube could refuse to play a video over blocking you had already switched off.
0.11.1 21 September 2026
  • Fixed OUIBO vanishing from Windows' Default apps list after an update, with no way to get it back. Each update runs the uninstaller first, which removes the registration — but OUIBO kept a note saying it had already registered, read that note on the next launch, and declined to put it back.
0.11.0 20 September 2026
  • YouTube video ads are blocked again, signed in as well as signed out. This needs the part of a blocker that works inside the page — the same method uBlock Origin uses on Firefox — which had been switched off since August after it broke YouTube's player.
  • If it breaks a site, the per-site switch added in 0.10.0 now turns off the in-page part too, not just network blocking. One switch, one meaning.
0.10.0 20 September 2026
  • Per-site ad blocking. The shield panel now has a switch for the site you are on, so you can keep blocking everywhere and allow ads on the few sites that demand it — YouTube being the obvious one, since it withholds the video rather than showing ads when it detects blocking.
  • A Block on new sites default, for sites you have not decided about either way.
0.9.4 20 September 2026
  • Fixed a “A JavaScript error occurred in the main process” dialog that could appear repeatedly and block the window until dismissed. A tab keeps running for a moment after the window holding it closes, and each thing it reported was reported to a window that no longer existed.
0.9.3 19 September 2026
  • Ctrl+U opens View Page Source, as it does in every other browser. Note that this claims Ctrl+U from pages that use it for underline.
0.9.2 19 September 2026
  • Right-click → View Page Source. It asks the site for the page again, using your session, so you see the markup the server actually sent — and see it as a logged-in page where that matters.
  • Fixed View Selected Source mangling its own output: every tag came back as <class="tag"> because the syntax highlighter was highlighting the markup it had just written.
0.9.1 19 September 2026
  • Sign-in buttons that open a small popup window — “Sign in with Google” and the like — now finish. Previously the popup was turned into an ordinary tab, which cut it off from the page that opened it, so the account chooser appeared and then nothing happened. Sites that sign you in by redirecting the whole page were never affected.
0.9.0 19 September 2026
  • Windows reopen where you left them, on the screen you left them on. If that screen is gone — a dock unplugged, a monitor off — the window opens somewhere you can actually see it rather than off the edge of the desktop.
0.8.0 19 September 2026
  • Developer tools on F12 or Ctrl+Shift+I, as well as right-click → Inspect Element.
  • Pages no longer get throttled when the browser wrongly thinks a tab is hidden, which could quietly stop timers and animations on a tab you were looking at.
0.7.0 17 September 2026
  • Opening an HTML file from Explorer now opens the file, rather than just starting the browser.
  • Files dropped onto the tab strip open as tabs. Drops onto a page still belong to the page, so upload boxes keep working.
  • A local path typed into the address bar opens the file instead of searching for its name.
0.6.0 17 September 2026
  • OUIBO now appears in Windows' list of default browsers, so it can be chosen in Settings rather than being absent from the list with no explanation.
0.5.0 17 September 2026
  • Choose which microphone pages use, instead of taking whatever Windows calls the default — which is often not the headset you are wearing.
  • The toolbar now shows when a page is holding the microphone, and names the device it was given.
0.4.0 16 September 2026
  • Reopen recently closed windows, each with all of its tabs, from the history panel.
0.3.0 16 September 2026
  • Move a tab to another window. The page keeps running as it moves — scroll position, half-filled forms and playing media all survive.
0.2.2 16 September 2026
  • Multiple windows, for putting one set of tabs on each screen. They share one browser, so signing in once signs you in everywhere.
  • Every window's tabs come back when you reopen. ⌃N opens a window, ⌃Q quits.
  • Fixed: the address bar losing the cursor as you typed.
0.1.4 16 September 2026
  • The address bar completes as you type, from your history and bookmarks, offering a site's front page first rather than whichever page of it you happened to open.
